Walking through snowy woods, shod with snowshoes: even in the wintertime Zell am See-Kaprun is a dream destination for hiking friends. If you choose one of the Schmittenhöhe routes, you will find yourself going up into high and lofty places and enjoy a marvellous view.
The hiking trails through Kaprun are simply ideal for a leisurely walk in the afternoon. Whether you want to go for a short march or decide on a long winter expedition - the plateau of the 'Glocknermassiv' is only a few thousand metres away. Shorter routes are superbly suited for families or people who are less fit, as far as their physical condition is concerned. Trails to Kaprun Castle lead through the moorlands and along the banks of Salzach river.
